Doug, great to hear from you again.

I'lls end you an e-mail, if you want to e-mail the pics to me I'll sort them out and post them onto the forum - I ahve broadband so don't worry about the file size on my account.

Anyway, I would get to see them first

Oh, by the way - any chance you could turn the caps lock off

I remember Ken Wood with the famous Golden Wonder car, he was one of my favourite. I seem to remember he had another TR7 before that one.

Dougie, I thought KDU 497N had always been a 16 valve car I thought Ken had another KDU car, I will try to find its reg number. I know he was well respected at the factory which meant he was one of the first to use a TR7 in rallying. I would love to see more of the cars as I followed his career in Motoring News, in the early 80s.

Dont worry Beans! I will share as much as possible with all the members!!!

I have a great videos of the car which I am currently trying to get from VHS to DVD and i have plenty of pics as Martin will eventually know about!!

I tried to post the pics but I was unsuccessfull!!

I was only small at the time but I do remember the car (SJW 548S) well.

My father reckons it was one of the best rally cars he every had.

He also wants to let everyone know he is open to any questions about TR7's> As I mentioned in previous reply. whether it be mods, tech , or rallying.

I'm not glory hunting or being bumptious. It is just  nice to share info with enthusiasts, like yourselves and pass on any ideas.

Is the current owner of SJW 548S a member

I wish I had a TR'

Cheers

Chris, Sorry got the reg wrong it was KDU 487N he owned> I just looked at one of the pics!!

I can't remember much about this car as it was before my time. I only know from photos and what my father has spoken about. This was his first TR after his mini it was originally from the factory (not abingdon though) Birmingham he thinks!! It was originally a transmission test car with an eight valve and a four speed box. He then converted to a 16 valve sprint engine, five speed with a salisbury axle.

Cheers
Doug

SJW 548S has been restored and is in superb condition, its currently in the British Airways livery only used in the 1978 RAC rally.
