No I didn't buy it. I generally try to avoid the temptation of buying models, they serve no real purpose and just collect dust... that said they do seem to have a way of creeping up on you! I just got the IXO and Trofeu ones already mentioned. I have bought a few of the old rally stickers with TR7V8's on though, again hard to resist I find...can't stick them on though, that would spoil them!

A bargain indeed !!!
I thought that at 25,00 this one was rather cheap
But at least it's a Sprint
By the way is it from the portugese firm Trofeu ?

Interesting reg. did any of the other rally cars use the OOE reg. The reason I ask is because I used to have a bog standard MkII escort with the reg OOE 303R which if I remember right was a "Brummy one" Came from Bristol St Motors Ford Agent

Whereabouts are you staying? Croyde is only a small village, I live one side of it and my shop is on the other side. I am very easy to find!

Steve, a friend and I normally camp in Croyde when we go surfing, and planning a surf trip 1st or 2nd weekend in March, would love to say hi if you're about.. and the guy I go surfing with is normally my nav, so he won't mind either!

You are welcome to come and talk TR's anytime.

There are no camp sites open early march... If you surf I expect you know my shop (clue... it's the pink one!) If you want more info on accommodation etc. better move this off the forum and e-mail me at croydebay@aol.com

The GPM model must be of Roger Clarks 1980 Mintex car as he wasnt driving a Triumph in 1979. It would be nice to see one of the real works TR7V8 rally cars painted in Sparkrite livery.

Interesting reg. did any of the other rally cars use the OOE reg.

OOE937R and OOE938R were (as far as I know) only used from the RAC Rally in nov 1976,  till the Hunsrück Rally in july 1977.
OOE937R was driven by Brian Culcheth and Johnston Syer, OOE938R by Tony Pond and Fred Gallagher

1976 TR7 FHC (bought for its wheels in 2013, currently undergoing some TLC ...)
1980 TR7 DHC (a.k.a. Kermette, my first car bought in 1988 )
1981 TR7 FHC (Sprint engined, a.k.a. 't Kreng, bought as a parts donor in 1994, the rest is history as they say)

I've got the Trofeu Culcheth/Syer model as well, Beans - exact same as yours.

The box with mine has a sticker saying:

Triumph TR7 B Culcheth / J Syer RAC Rally 1976.

The model is licensed by British Motor Heritage Ltd. Have they got the real car in a museum?
